Bearing noise (quick question)
2.8 B5
Getting some bearing squeal from the top pulley unit. Can someone tell me what that unit is? Its the top pulley the belt goes over. The coil bolts to it.
I think it is the power steering/brake unit but not sure.
From listening to it, it seems the noise is coming from there. It could be the small pulley below it?
Thanks for the help

I think I'm experiencing the same issue. I sounds like a bearing or something similar is going bad on that top pulley or in that area. Did you get a knocking noise as well? This started for me yesterday on my drive home from work - outside temp was approx 20F so I chalked it up to the cold, but the noise did not go away when the engine reached operating temp.
