Ok I'm getting some new hid's and don't know what to get! Also I want my high beams to be hid also and want to know if I can buy them for my fog lights that are in the headlight?
Thanks!

For starters, HID's in halogen glass headlamps are a bad idea.

For HID to be effective, and not blind other road users, you need projector headlamps.
Fitting HID to your glass units will give a very "scattered" beam, with little or no beam pattern.

Regardless of the options you take, HID's in high beam means you may have to install a "slave" halogen in the same projector, as you'll pretty much lose the ability to flash other drivers, as HID's have a slow warm-up phase.

Let me know if you require genuine OEM HID-ready ecodes.

+1 to what Siena said.

Also yes, you can install HID's on fogs.

Good luck.

^^^ Yes, HID's can be installed in foglamps, but from what AudiTurbo said in his query, his foglamps are integral with his glass halogen headlamps, so installing HID's in them isn't recommended, or indeed practical.

Agreed there - find a set of "facelift fogs" that mount in the lower bumper (that's what I did on my 99 - I put those in along with Depo projector headlights) - they're a semi-projector design and will work fine with HIDs. You'll have to modify the housings to do this (basically drill an access hole in the housing for the high-voltage HID bulb cables to pass through), but they'll work fine. Several on here have done it. When I do mine, I'll take pics and do a step-by-step DIY procedure for it.

HID high beams are not even necessary

^^^ Because main beams are often used to flash warnings to other drivers.

With HID's, due to the fact they have a warm-up phase, the probably won't flash if you flick a warning, unless you time the operation, and hold it a bit longer than required.

In most situations, it'll probably be too late - the driver you're flashing a warning to may have passed.

HID ballasts don't take kindly to rapid cycling, and won't last very long.
The question you need to ask yourself is - why do you feel the need to have HID's in your main beams??

The best way to do high beams is with Silverstar bullbs which you can pick up at any autozone or advanced auto parts

So I have to run the h7's single beam, or can I run the dual beam?
