The two-piece projectors don't have fogs either - the only headlights that do are the OEM two-piece units. If you want fogs after upgrading, you'll have to go with OEM facelift fogs, or a set of fogs from a parts store.

 

OK thanks! Well I guess with the one piece and hid's I really wouldn't need the fog light!

Euro versions have projectors that are unique, and geared towards HID installation, regardless of whether they have HID or halogen fitted.

Ecodes run H7's in both main and dipped beams.
So if you purchase a HID kit, you'll be purchasing a kit for a H7, no modifications are required to the ecode projectors.

The beam pattern of US-spec and ecodes when fitted with HID's are totally different, in terms of sharpness and cut-off point.

 

What was the reason why HID lights shouldn't be installed in the stock headlights? Was it because they would cause damage or wouldn't be a very direct beam?

 

Two fold. I believe they melt the plastic and I know it's because they have a very scattered beam.

 

Beam scatter was the main issue, rather than the plastic reflectors melting.

 

Yep - I had them in my OEM reflectors and the beam was all over the place. The HIDs did not damage the headlight housings though.

Will the Angel Eye Non-Xenon Headlight Kit that ECS tuning sells work fine with D2S HID low beam headlights and the Silverstar H7 halogen high beam headlights? Are there any modifications required for fitment on either the car or the new housings? I have a 2001 b5 a4.

Also does anyone know exactly what comes with this kit? The description is kinda' vague. It seems kinda cheap for a pair. What do they mean by, "Integrated fog lights"? Someone on here must already have this kit.

I need two new housings and I really like these ones, but I want to make sure I get what works best for HIDs. Any suggestions?
