Default Big brake upgrade?

So i heard my brakes squeaking and decided to take it in thinking id need new rear pads (front ones are almost brand new). I find out though that im gonna need to get not only my rear pads replaced but i have to get the rear rotors replaced too, which they quoted me for a total of $350 parts and labor. So owning a b5 and hearing my rotors need to be replaced the big brake upgrade is immediately going through my head.

Alright finally getting to the point though..since my rotors need to be replaced and i wanted to do big brake at some point anyways should i go ahead and use this as an excuse to do it? My main thoughts are is it worth it to drop the extra money and how much would i be looking at for a8 rotors and tt carriers

the a8 bbk has nothing to do with the rears.....

so it is up to you if you want to drop the $'s front and rear

Let's do the math.

$350 for rear pads/rotors.

Front pads/rotors are fine = free.

BBK is about $250.

$350 + $250 = $600.

$600>$350.

Is the extra stopping power worth the price tag?!

The A8 BBK is fronts only. You get A8 rotors, TT carriers, use the same calipers and get slightly more stopping power and better looks. Only rear BBK's I'm aware of are S4 rears that will run you $1k+ or some custom setup.

Don't worry about it!

I'm gonna finally be buying the last of the parts for the A8 upgrade this weekend, I'll post pics when all the stuff gets to my apartment.

Meloman, I wouldn't even bother going BBK in the rear unless you're tracking your car and absolutely NEED more whoa. The cost far outweighs the benefit IMO

i've already got the a8tt kit... it is nice to have, but not a must.... keep in mind, it can limit your wheel choice
