Heh for the money they're a great upgrade. They certainly aren't track brakes but they are what this car shouldve come with from the factory. For the price though they are a considerable upgrade. But just like power, you become used to then and want more. Can't wait to get and install the C240/Touareg system...

What I've been told:

The C240 Sport rotors (13.1" drilled and vented) are about $200/pair. SS lines run $150ish. Touareg 330mm calipers vary by price - gotta find them from a salvage yard and the prices vary - I've seen $127 for a caliper and I've seen $220+ for one (apparently this upgrade is becoming popular and is being reflected in the pricing). Pads are whatever price the Touareg pads run. Other than that, you need whatever adapter is needed to fit S4 brakes on an A4 (the setup is bolt-on for an S4 but not an A4). You'll have to have at least 18" wheels and some of those may not clear based on wheel design and offset.

There's also a 345mm system which is how I got my wheels so cheap - those calipers wouldn't even clear my 19s.

Set up sounds sick. I want massive brakes!

I saw a Ferrari the other day when I went out to eat, and the rotors were probably the size of my winter wheels. It was insane.

Oh I meant to say also - the Touareg calipers are six-piston Brembos. The pistons are progressive in size but when bolted directly onto our cars, the pistons are reversed. Fortunately they can be popped out and reinstalled in the correct order for progressive operation.

Nick - I hear ya. The Enzo I sat in a few years ago has 15" carbon rotors and calipers nearly the size of a loaf of rye bread. Sexy as hell

They're huge, but then with the power and speed of that missile, they aren't overkill. Meloman, let me know when you have some spare time and I'll meet up with you after work sometime soon.
