Update... after beating my head on it for 4 hours today I fixed the coolant flange and the crankcase breather tube..

Now Im getting a red coolant warning light with three beeps!? Did I break my sensor ?

Also got the car started and took it around the block.. seemed better but not 100%

I also noticed a lot of condensation inside the ends of my tail pipes??? Anyone know what could be causing this.. plus at WOT I get some smoke out the tail pipes as well

Going on week 3 with no car..sharing with my wife is really starting to takes its toll..

Hope you guys can help Im getting pretty f'n frustrated

sounds like your head gasket is about to go, steam(condensation) is from coolant, smoke is from oil.

Is your cars temperature fine? does it go to about halfway when warmed up?

regarding keegans post - buy about 8 feet of 3/8 vac line and replace every little brittle hose you see, they are so commenly failed and its $.60 a foot, plus your car will run better.

temp is fine it has never gone past center.. not even once. wouldnt I be overheating if the head was going? also wouldnt it be making some strange noises?

Man I sure hope its not the head.. I just had the oil pump replaced because of sludge.. hope I wasnt too late. Im ready to drive this car off a cliff and claim the insurance money

Im going to drive it home today and see how it reacts.

update... never made it home as soon as it warms up the car basically dies..

the more gas I give the more it wants to die.

I had a mechanic come by and he said it is most likely the cat that has failed. He said that they are truly set to fail around the warranty 80K.

Time for upgrade.. got a 034 motorsports HFC on the way.. should give me 10 maybe 15 hp with my GIAC I hope.

And hopefully my car will be back running how it should

DO you still have the seconmadary air code? DId you fix the vaccum leak? thats going to cause car to die when gas is given also. and vaccum leaks are never good.

How would a cat let the car die when gas is given? its after the fact.

I fixed all the vacuum leaks.

I was still getting the secondary injection code yes but the pump seemed to be operating normally

What I meant is that I can drive the car normally for about 15 minutes but it seems to be that when the car warms up at a certain point it wants to die out. If I give it a ton of throttle I can keep it going but barely. It still wants to die out.

thoughts? my maf is new by only 6 months and I run stock air filter
