One thing regarding the 01E - the final drive is very similar to an 01A. The 01E isn't an 01A with a tall extra gear. The gear ratios are more tightly spaced than in the A. At speed on the road in 6th, your RPM would be similar to the same road speed in 5th on the A transmission. There is a European 5th gear that can be swapped into a US spec car that'll act much more like an overdrive gear (at 65-70 it'll be at 2000 instead of nearly 3000), but I don't think that matters for your car as it sounds like you're in Europe already.

with the 5 gear I get around 4000 RPM at 86 mph... a 6th gear wouldn't give lower RPMs? (I am not sure how many RPMs i have at 65....cant recall now because on our highways the limit is 86...so I always drive around there...that's why i remember the RPMs needle)

Both the 1.8T and 2.7T have a maintenance fetish. 1.8 guys are dealing with a check light every couple weeks lol. The S4 guys don't get them nearly as often because their cars are down 75% of the time for repairs.
