hey, i have a 1999 audi a4 1.8t, i wanna get a boost controller but don't know what one to get. How easy are they to install?

 

Depends on your goal. MBCs are good for up to 20 psi usually, but also the have boost creep. EBCs are better, but can be hard to install. GReddy, HKS, and Tial have good ones, but its up to you on your personal preference. Also you will have to delete the N75 valve, n249, and upgrade the DV. I dont know your current mods so I cant help all that much till I know about your car.

 

mbc's are easier to install but not as nice. All it requires is changin the lines on the n75 to pipe in the controller. Ebc's are better, but way more expensive... are you chipped or have any other mods... I wouldnt just go crankin up the boost without changing fueling or timing...

 

no mods yet but i looking to do everything at once, im looking into either a giac or apr chip and a Forge splitter. Would a test pipe or downpipe do alot if i still have the stock exhaust system?

I could be wrong, but don't chips turn up the boost, therefore making a BC not needed?
