I'll be going with an AWE gauge mounted in the center vent.

i would very highly recommend the VDO gauge... it is the same brand as your gauge cluster, and by far looks the most stock out of any gauge out there. it is simple, yet gets the job done. its only like $33 too!

there are some other boost gauges at this site as well, check them out!

+1 on VDO. ECS tuning is running a sale on them packaged with an APR vent pod for like $120

I like my podi, it's mounted just rear of the wheel and doesn't obstruct most of the gauges in the instrument panel. + it matches the color and the type of font.

I got the VEI System package red

One spot I'd suggest you AVOID is the A pillar. The 2001 has side curtain airbags there, and a pillar-mounted gauge pod would f*ck your sh*t up if you got hit and that airbag deployed. The suggestions above are quality. Other places I've seen boost gauges pulled off nicely are the heating/AC vent to the left of the steering wheel, in a pod on top of the steering column, or any of the three center heating/AC vents.

I like my glowshift gauge (~$40 from ebay) with the steering wheel column pod from ecs (~$30)

the glowshift gauge can change colors with the button in front, including white. the needle stays red
