I do plan on having my machine shop do the valves. I have built a couple motors and have had good luck with the place I go.

The interior/exterior is in very good shape(Previously titled in Florida). Other then stitches coming out of the seat portion of the drivers seat, everything is in great condition. I will post up some detailed photos when I get my camera out.

My plans for now are to get everything up to par and learn about the car a little more while I work on it.

Eventually I would like to push it to a bigger turbo and do some slight tuning.
Although, Id like to keep the headaches to a minimal(Coming from the DSM world)..

Not a bad buy at all for $750. If the only problem with it is bent valves you can put some new valves in and have a running car for about $300-$400. I just bent 6 valves in my head on my 98 and I replaced the valves, cleaned the head up, new gaskets, new oil, coolant and all for about $350. My car now runs like new again. Sludge really isn't a problem with these engines like everyone thinks it is. What the actual problem is is the oil screen getting clogged up on the oil pump and causes low oil pressure, etc and then can possibly cause some sludge issues. But if you have to take the head off anyway to change the valves, give it a good cleaning and get all the gunk out and change the oil screen if needed and you're good to go. I would keep it mostly stock though if I was you though. I have a DSM too and the 4G63 is much much easier to make power with than the 1.8t.

Just a little update:
I have the head at the machine shop and should be done next week. There was no major head damage other then valves bent. There was no major damage to the pistons either, just a little emry cloth will fix them up nice. Luckily all the lifters are still good, so thats a plus!

Ill probably have 600 into it by the time im done. But I got a new cam chain tensioner, and water pump.

I have everything to reinstall the head. I just need the time to do it(college is awesome).
I hope I can have it done by the end of November.
