borla...magnaflow...idk
idk whats the different between all of the exhaust out for the audi..what would be so different bout getting a custom one built..why do all of these have different sounds..i just dont get it
Well...a lot of people do get custom exhausts built. It's a lot cheaper and you can choose your muffler based on which produces the sound that you like the most. If you like the way a muffler looks, see if you can find a video of it on a car like yours on YouTube to get an idea of the sound.
I own a magnaflow, Ive herd a borla..And i made we want to rip my magnaflow off
The borla in person sounds amazing! however if you can find a remus. Get it, they sound the best out of everything, just are expensive.

I vote borla over Magnaflow but either is a good choice. They sound different because they have different designs and are made for different sounds. Do a search for custom exhaust and you will get all the answers you need.
The Borla is great for price, but it's only 2.25". If you plan on modding the crap out of your 1.8T and want to put in a Big Turbo, then you'll need a 2.5-3" exhaust for the flow. 2.25" is fine for stock or chipped K03, K04, and probably most of the smaller elim turbo kits.
I got my Borla at Allexhaust.com, but look around to find out who has the cheapest price and free shipping. Also remember that you'll need to go to the dealer for 3 new exhaust bolts (cat to downpipe) and the metal gasket.

You can search YouTube for videos of the systems installed - type in "A4 magnaflow" or "A4 milltek" or whichever system you want to hear and you'll find videos of them on the cars, either sitting and revving, or doing fly-bys on the camera.
