I have a 98 FWD audi a4 B5 1.8t
i want to get a new exhaust system and i want it to perferably be Borla
when i went to their site and looked up my car they didnt have an exhaust system for my car, however, they do have one for the same year same engine same model , but its a quattro system,. will the quattro exhaust system from borla fit my car?

Pretty sure it won't fit. Our gas tanks are larger than the Quattro gas tanks and my guess is that could interfere with the exhaust system, and the placement of the mufflers/hangers is probably different. My thinking is that if all companies list separate exhaust systems for FWD and Quattro, there's gotta be a reason.

But then again maybe it will fit with some tweaking... I'm actually using a Milltek downpipe made for Quattro. I cut the last ~6 inches off of it and had my exhaust guy weld/bend a custom exhaust from that point.

 

Vagcat doesn't say anything different from fwd and awd. Just shows AEB and other engine codes for 1.6 and 1.9 diesel.

 

At least comparing my B5 quattro A4 to my buddy's B5 FWD Passat, the systems are vastly different. It'd be worth looking under a Quattro to see what differences you can spot.

 

yea i have the borla system for my early 99 quattro and im certain the systems are different.. for sure
