Default Brake hose got cut, need help.

Hello All,

I just purchased my first Audi, 1997 A4 1.8t not quattro last night. Everything seemed good on the car except for this morning when I got to my car and saw a huge huge spill of brake fluid underneath the car.

I took off the passenger front wheel to notice my brake hose has a ton of slashes and deterioation causing the massive leak. The brake fluid resevoir appears to be empty.

My question is after I replace the brake hose, can I just fill the resevoir and bleed only that caliper or do I have to bleed the entire system?

All help appreciated, Thanks

When you refill the reservoir you will more than likely be dealing with air in the whole system. So, a complete bleed should be performed.

^ agreed. Don't forget, start with the furthest wheel from the resevoir (rear passenger) and work you way closer. (rear passenger, rear driver, front passenger, front driver).

Congrats on the purchase, welcome to Audi Forums, and holy ****, another Audi owner in Kansas. Watch out, we're taking over the counrty now!

It's not very difficult, just a little time consuming jacking up each corner one at a time to remove the wheel, bleed, install the wheel and move on to the next.

And you'll be lucky if you don't need to bench bleed the master cylinder.
