Default Brake lines

hello, can you cut of the bubble flare on the brake line and reflare it with a 45 degree double flare? I believe the lines are standard 3/16.

The fitting should still work with my new 45 degree double flare, correct?
What i intend to do is cut off the bubble fitting and flare it so i can find a tee fitting. Its kinda hard to find tee fitting for a bubble flare I can only find unions ( one in one out). I need a (1/4) in and 2 (3/16) out. Ill probobly need some adapters but the only problem I see so far is that ill need to remove the bubble flare and reflare it with a 45.

Unhappy

So i flared the lines today. I put a two tees both. 1/4 in and 2- 3/16 out. When i finished I tested it out and both tees leaked. One leaked from the 1/4 line inlet and the other leaked from the side 3/16 outlet.

What I am wondering is it looked like the other fittings sealed good but I was thinking maybe since those leaked first it would not leak out of the others. Is this true? I was using a 45 degree double flare on all the fittings. Im gonna cap each off tommorow to trace down a bad flare or something individually, if not im gonna use compression fittings.Maybe.

Default too late for this poster

But if you are searching threads about bubble flares...

The answer is "No you can not use a Double Flare on a Bubble Flare fitting".

Double flares have a concave flare that fits to a convex female fitting.
The Bubble (ISO, metric standard) flare has a convex flare and fits to a concave female fitting.

A specific ISO/Bubble Flaring tool/die is required to make the bubble flare.

Well.... maybe you don't need a special Bubble Flare tool.

Here is a YouTube that shows you how to make a Bubble flare using a Double Flare tool.

I tried it, and it seems to work. Or at least the result looks just like a bubble flare.
