Default Brake pad worn light still on after disabling in VAG COM

I recently had my brakes changed and the garage who did them used non stock pads and spliced the cables. The Idiot light is still on despite me connecting vag com to it and changing the values within instruments. The only other thing it possibly could be is that they've overfilled the brake fluid bottle. Would that cause the issue? Please help, it's annoying the hell out of me as there's no rational reason for the light to still be on.

If they couldn't be bothered to install the right brake pads I'd make sure they actually looped the sensor wires properly.

They hadn't, so I did but regardless I've disabled the sensor in Vag Com anyway so it shouldn't be on at all!
