Hey guys, I'm picking up a 2001 audi a4 1.8t quattro on Monday. It has the brake pads worn light on in the control center. When I look at the pads, they look new and my landlord(who im buying it from) says they were recently replaced. He said when they were done, he was told the drivers side front brake pad sensor connector was bad and needed to be replaced. Where can I find this? Is it simple or a PITA? I'm gonna check on ecstuning.com, but wont have time to get under the car just yet. TIA

 

Okay, so I had a few minutes to pull the wheel off. The sensor connector off the brake pad is there, however, there are two wires taped off from the cars harness that should have the connector on that side...guess I need to find one of those and solder it...

 

best bet would be a salvage one. clip it off then wire it up.

 

yeah...thats what im thinking. I've messaged a few people parting out a4's to see if they would help out.

 

Same thing happened to me - the sensor connector on the car was cut and now only the wire is left there. I just connected the 2 wires to close the circuit and the warning light went out.

 

since they theoretically burn off at the same rate. if you have one good sensor you could close the one and use the good one still. or get a cheap replacement.

 

i found a connector for $5 shipped! but yeh, thats a good idea too. What happened to good old fashion squealers and looking at it to see if it needed to be replaced?lol

I just looked and both passenger/drivers side connectors are gone. The wires are wrapped around eachother and heatshrunk together. Why is my brake pad warning light on?
