Default Brakes

I was wondering what the best brakes were to get, i have around 600 dollars to spend. I am looking for either a new kit just parts but i need new calipers. Is it worth it to go for a kit so i will not need to replace the parts wehn they are worn down soon? thanks

Why do you need new calipers? Your not going to find a complete brake kit thats under $600. Just new rotors all the way around are going to cost you $300-$400, then add on another $100 for pads.

You can get a A8 front brake kit for about $430, but those use the stock calipers. That doesn't include new pads or rear brakes.

i need new calipers cause i need to bleed my brakes but the screws are rusted in the old ones, unless there is a way to get them out some how and just buy new screws, that would be prefered

Soak them with PB Blaster or Zep Twister and wrench them out. If they don't survive or break, drill the rest out, re-tap the threads and replace the bleed screws.

Upgrade to A8 rotors/TT carriers up front and Hawk pads all the way around when you're done.

ya new calipers will cost you much more than 600 themselves. do what tweaked said or buy used calipers. the calipers we have are much stronger than needed, the A8 upgrade is a killer combo. you'll feel like you hit a wall when you stomp on them

you can always look on ebay for used calipers but Tweaked suggestion is better to try first

look for the A8/TT rotors and carriers then get a set of good pads and you will be stopping much better then before

Agreed with those guys - I love my A8 brakes. There's other stuff you can use too - search online for "Kroil" or "AeroKroil" and soak the bleeders in that - it'll get down into a millionth-of-an-inch gap and has worked magic for me many times. Do that, get the A8 brake kit, good pads, and you'll be amazed at the improvement.

well thanks for all the sugestions, i got some of that PBlaster and it worked wonders. Except for the front rtight caliper the bleeding screw broke off and now i can not get it with anything, so teh only thing i can do is to drill it out?

why were you messing with the bleeder screw? if you can get a male easy out, it'll lock itself onto the remaining screw that's left and take it out. last option should be drilling because you definitely don't want to mess up your calipers

i had to take it out to replace it in order to bleed the brakes, what do you mean it will lock on to the remaining screw?
