Default Broken Exhaust Hanger

99.5 1.8T Manual

I was changing the oil in the rear diff and noticed this broken exhaust hanger. Nothing rattles, and it seems fairly well held is place by what's in front and behind.

I'm thinking I'd either pay someone to weld it (looks like enough non-rusted surface metal), or using a couple of large hose clamps, or maybe just leave it.

Thoughts?

Any exhaust shop should be able to tack that back on for 20 bucks or a 12 pack.

Thanks again BaseDrifter. I'll stop by a local exhaust shop for a tack weld.

That's not even bad at all, mine was a big pile of rust and holes when it broke off. Got it welded up in 5 minutes and it's been holding just fine for 3 years now. While you're there get them to look over the whole exhaust to see if they can align it better, seems like it was misaligned and putting constant stress on that hanger.

Had the same issue and I went the hose clamp route, since the exhaust was off the car anyway.

That same hanger on mine has been that way for about 115,000 miles. I keep meaning to have it welded...but it hasn't seemed to make a problem.
