Default Building a custom exhaust, 98 V6 Quattro

I've been trying to plan out how I want to lay out my catback exhaust, but I haven't really figured out what muffler and resonator to go with. I really don't want any drone or burbling, but still want a deeper tone, like the Vibrant/magnaflow 14816 combo in sights n sounds but with less burbling. Gonna be going with 2.5" piping throughout. What combinations would you recommend, or what would you change about the vibrant/magnaflow combo to make it sound like what I'm looking for? (inlet/outlet size, length, etc)

Vibrant/Magnaflow is the most common setup and honestly, one of the best sounding setup for the money.

I think the burbling you're talking about is caused by the size of the piping. Most people run 3 inches or more. If you plan on going only 2.5, there should be less drone.

Go to local meets or GTG's and check out people setup. The only way to really have a feel and decide on what setup to get.

I'm building one now. i have an idea.......

I'm going to put two magna flow round 2" mufflers on the end on my down pipe where the flex pipes starts, then angle the exhaust down. nothing more. anyone see a problem?

I feel like it would be loud as ****, but if that doesn't bother you it should sound cool

lol it'll definitely be quieter than an open downpipe. Maybe I misunderstood what muffler you were going to use, not these?

Ahhhh gotcha, that should sound good! Make sure you use a turn down to keep from setting fire to the rubber undercoating
