Hey guys I have a 99 quattro 1.8 awd version. If I was to build.my own what would you suggest. I would like a good performing sound nothing ricey.

If you're going to keep the stock turbo, 2.25-2.5" exhaust should do fine. If you're going BT or BAT you're gonna want 3". A popular muffler choice around here is the Magnaflow 14816 in 2.5" with a vibrant straight-thru resonator.

However, for the cost of the muffler, resonator, fabrication of a new down pipe and all the welding, you could prolly buy an aftermarket piece for the same.
