Default Buying Avant...Help

Hey guys,,,im about to buy a 1999.5 avant.....this are all the mods it has....anything i should look for when i test drive it? im going from a stock 01 a4 non-quattro to a 1999.5 avant quattro.....is it worth it???

modifications were done by previous owner:

Metallic pearl charcoal black exterior, grey interior
Heated Seats
Mika tuned GT 25 software
RS2 - green top injectors
K24 sport turbo
Race Products intercooler ( side mount )
ECS race N75 valve
new spark plugs
VR6 Mass Airflow housing with open air element
MTM cast exhaust manifold (costs $2000+)
URS4 external wastegate
Audi TT 225 hp by-pass valve
Custom fabricated 3" exhaust ( cat delete ) - ( NO Check Engine light )
APR Snub mount
Eibach sport lower springs
S4 wheels w/ Continental tires

Timing belt, water pump, seals, thermostat just done along with MAF/throttle body cleaning, new plugs.

When I purchased the car there was a huge boost leak, a busted silicon elbow between the turbo and intercooler, once I replaced that the car came alive. I replaced the thermostat to get the car running up to correct temperature (was running cold), then I had the turbo rebuilt. The car is a little tempermental when cold, but once warmed up it drives great. Everything on the car works great.

seems like an ok price take it for a test drive listen for any strange noises if possible and ok with owner you could take it to a shop jut to have it checked up really quick most shops will be willing to look at maybe 100 bucks split it with owner if your gonna buy it? try and go check it out when the car is cold so you can see how it starts up cause trying it after its been warmed up can cover up lot of things

Could be the MAF. If it has a MAP sensor you can try running it mafless cold and see if it still happens

I don't know if I would ever feel good about buying a car that has been modified... You never know how much "fun" the guy/gal before you had with it - but that's just me. I'm always looking for nice A4s on craigslist, but if I even see 'GIAC' on the ad I'm on to the next one.

I feel the same way about buying cars that have been in accidents - even if it was repaired, once you own the car for a while, all the imperfections start popping up...
