Well first I've gotta say i owe ya for all the help auditech.
And I'm sure you guys are sick of me getting my stereo out because i know i am haha. But here's my last attempt, heres a pic just to show how far i can get my radio before it gets stuck so maybe this will help (also you can see where i slipped and chipped my tape slot
)

The trim piece pulls straight off. It will probably require more force than you would expect and like auditech79 said be careful of the tabs. You are bound to break a few. To get mine off I used one of those paint can lid tools to get behind and gently pull the trim out.
Once you get that off you may be able to get a pick down where your top right radio key goes (that is the one you said wasn't working right?) The key holds a little metal tab in towards the center of the radio allowing the radio to move forward out of the frame.

So i gotta give props to Beau and Auditech, as soon as i pulled that top trim panel off it got a lot easier to see what was going on. I ended up having my neighbor help me and once we finally got the stereo out we saw that somehow the key was pushing overtop the lock and thats where my gashes were coming from and why I couldn't get it to lock on.
