Default can you guys help me out?

Ok, so due to a mess up on an oil change, yes oil change, my 2002 a4 engine AND tranny were ruined, but the shop is installing a new engine AND trans for me. The car has 127000 on our, would this increase the trade in value of my car? I can't seem to find anything helpful on the internet. I appreciate the help guys thanks

It's all going to come down to the prospective buyer. Some would look at it as a new lease on life, and others would run away thinking the car has been abused. Best bet is to advertise it with the asking price you have in mind, disclose the fact of the new engine and transmission, and see what happens.

Personally, in this situation I wouldn't look at it as an automatic negative, and if the new drivetrain is younger than the car, it could help you in the sale. There are no hard and fast rules for cost adjustment in this case - it all comes down to the buyer. Be forthright about the whole situation in your ad, and anyone who calls will evidently be ok with it.
