Are you talking about with no intake? If you have an 01 you can, but there is no reason to unless you have a large turbo setup that its hard to run a intake on.

its a 00 i had a autobauhn88 intake missed spelled that sry but it wont fit on the t3 compressor side and if i get an adaptor it comes out to far and hits the ac fan right now i got a jerryrig setup with slinky pipe but with that setup i took the crank case think off that goes into the intake and put a filter on it i also dont have the n75 hooked up again yet but the gas fume line is hooked up and dissconected the other side of the bov

You have to have an intake since the ecu needs the maf reading and is completely dependent on it since there is no map on your car.

you need one of these http://intakehoses.com/Merchant2/mer...gory_Code=CHEW

That thing that looks like a bov, is actually a regulator. The filter will do for now, but you really should look into doing a catchcan setup after you get the car running. It shouldnt be causing your issues

yea so that filter will work untill i get the boost back up to right levels i was talkin to my uncle abot the bov and he said the boost issue might b there cause when i first got the bov it held vac it was on my old gti it didnt hold as well but worked and it was on the a4 for about 5months now so im wondering if it got worse when the bigger turbo was making it blow off way longer then it use to it is a turbo smart knock off just wanted to get ur opinion u seem to know way more then he does

It sounds like its releasing since you said you heard it at 4psi, but you need to make sure that its closed at idle and staying closed when you are moving. If its leaking, its going to be hard to make boost.
