Im doing heater core swap and putting things back together, But I cannot seem to figure out where these two plugs go. Any ideas?

 

Can you rotate the picture and highlight/circlet the items you're talking about?

 

I am at work right now but will rotate and mark it when I get home. It is the brown and black plugs. The brown plug has a single wire to it. The black plug is wired in a series from a wire coming from the climate control. If that makes sense.

 

That's a pre-facelift (quite different from facelift).
The brown connector I believe is only used for the stock head unit, as a ground.
I'm guessing that black connector connects to the off-white-colored fan/motor that attaches to the end of the rectangular duct piece that is just behind/below the black connector in the picture.

 

Not sure what you are talking about about facelift but I already have the fan plugged into something. Maybe the wrong thing?

 

can't help with your original question. But I believe the 'facelift' mentioned is a reference to where/when your B5 falls within changes made in B5 series. People will say their b5 car is 'prefacelift', etc.

I can't explain the changes without searching/googling them.

 

The facelift reference was to A4TurboGuy, I'm not sure how familiar he is with pre-facelift dash wiring. But facelift means the car is a 1999.5 year or later, anything before that (like your car) is pre-facelift.

Can you take a picture of a picture of which harness the black connector's wires go to? And in that picture maybe show which other connectors go to the same harness?

It's gotta be something back in there. I did the heater core a while back and was scared I would miss a connection but I ended up finding homes for everything eventually. Is it too late to pull out the dash connections/climate control/radio assembly again? Just to look at and make sure you didn't miss anything.

Could it BE the radio?

 

Well the radio is not factory. I bought the car that way. I thought I made sure that I took note where every plug went. It may be a possibility that these two were not plugged into anything.
