Default cant fix problem!!

I have gone through three packs of coil packs and they all seem to keep going bad. could it be the harness. I have replaced plugs too. gapped at .32. My car misfires only under boost. any other ideas i know that the 2000 audi a4's dont have ignition control modules. this is getting annoying and expensive. thanks

the codes are random misfire only rarely and the misfire jumps around if i move the coil packs and sometimes even gets better.

1.8ts dont have wires. if coilpacks were available from autozone they are generally special ordered OEM ones. expensive but the right stuff.

Are you chipped or stock? If you're stock then .032" is right. If chipped you need .028". If you are misfiring under boost, you may be having trouble with the spark jumping the gap. Try gapping down to .030" and see what happens. If the misfire goes away, you've got a problem putting the necessary juice out of the coils. You need to scan the ECU before and after and see what codes move or change, if any - it may help narrow down a few possibilities.

It's very doubtful - you're running a lot more boost than stock. You can't run stock plug gaps, or even slightly less, with that boost - the spark goes out like blowing out a match. Gotta read up on modding a car before doing the mods, or at least before changing the same parts multiple times, especially on a car as complex as this - the info is all over this forum and it can save you a lot of money. I'm surprised though that no mention of gapping down was made by the chip salesperson.

I'm not trying to rag you man but there's been mention of plug gaps many times and a search on "misfiring" is very likely able to turn up the info.
