Default car check up!

hello everybody i just recently owned an 2001 audi a4 quattro manual with 117000 miles..now im planning to have the car check up..and fix or maintain what every i need to..should i bring it to a local auto place such as pepboys? or i will be better of going to an audi specialize auto shop? i want to get the whole car check out basically want to fix whatever is wrong with this car..so far the car rides smooth to me but i just want to keep everything on this car perfect so i wont have to run into any trouble later...also the previous owner said that this car ran on royal purple oil? i never heard of that so is there any way i can change that back to fully synthetic? if not where can i go to change this type of oil? thanks! all the help would be needed!

From what I've heard Royal Purple is top of the line. I don't think taking it to Pepboys is a good ida, try and find an Audi shop or some place not as big as Pepboys.

you should definitely not take it to a pepboys or anything similar... find a good independent german auto repair shop and plan on spending too much on everything. Have them do an inspection and give you a list of everything they recommend and then invest a good amount of time researching everything they recommend on these forums and then find the parts cheap online and do the work yourself using the diy threads

You've heard wrong. There are other threads on oil brands, though.

You can switch from any oil to any oil at any time. Synthetic to conventional... conventional to synthetic... brand... weight... doesn't matter.
