Car hesitates while accelerating

oh thats bad i didnt even check mine. looks like you have a kn filter. i have the stock box. so when its unplugged it has more power and stops hesitating?

when mine is unplugged, the hesitation is 100% completely gone. As far as more power, its hard to say. Your audi is going to run rough while its unplugged, but you can plug it right back in once you see if your hesitation is gone. I am very interested to know if you will have the same results as I did.

alright if u want check back in exactly 2 hours. im going to unplug it.on my way home and see how it goes. ill post the results at 11:30pm

It might be the MAFS wire harness clip/connector, not sure though. This is the part # i was given, but I can't seem to find it online. 1j0 973 776A is the part number. If you can't find it somewhere online or a local place, let me know. My local shop for sure carries them, and im sure they could ship it to you. Its only $10.

thanks i appreciate it. all i checked was napa and AutoZone they dont carry it, just checking ahead of time. i hope its not hard to change.

So i unplugged the mafs plug and holy crap! the car ran so smooth! i had no hesitation and drove so smooth, and the loud air noise is now gone also! and the car idled smooth and no check engine light came on! im going to get a new plug tomorrow morning. Thanks so much for your help! i hope when i plug in the new plug it keeps running smooth lol.

Well reading this it would appear that I should check my MAFS.. Thinking about it, I did get a code relating to MAP a few months ago before the problem originated. Does this problem you get usually happen at higher speeds? I don't notice hesitation until I get over 110-130k. Which is annoying for accelerating on the autobahn with speeds well over that. From 0-30/50k its all power. I don't want to pay Audi 200EUR(almost 300$) to just look at it without doing any work.
