Default Car sputters at very low rpms. new to audis please help!

After the gear engages and i step on the gas (slighty or heavily), i get a sputter or lag. It feels like a knock but its not, more like im hitting a wall. (as if everything freezes for a split second) Then the rpms climb. The problem is not speed or temp sensative, and also occurs randomly (but getting more frequent.) hope i explained this well.
I am new to audis, but not new to cars. Unfortunately when i look under the hood it all looks so foriegn to me (no pun intended.) Ive been a jap owner my whole life so i guess you can see why all this stuff looks complicated to me. please help.

without a year, engine/engine code, and trans type... you're gonna get no information.

1.8T or 2.8? And my guess is either vacuum lines for the idle which is what my 2.8 did before i replaced them? Or possibly engine sludge. Which is typical on the 1.8's

Do a search for "throttle body alignment" and do that - it may help you out.

I recommend checking your gap on the spark plugs. Gap should be at .28

.028" only if the car is chipped. If it's stock the gap is .032".
