Default Car won't start after being parked for a while, I think battery causes this

Hi!

I got 1996 A4 B5 1.8T FWD which I bought few months ago
I haven't really had much driving it due to exam period in studies, so around 750km has been driven in total by me.

Car was parked for a week or so and when I tried to open doors alarm and central locking didn't work, I charged battery(Stalite was the company iirc, 62aH, 600A, maintenance free). Now when battery is charged alarm, central locking, headlights, climate control all work. BUT engine wont start - no clicking sound, total quietness. Only noticeable effect of turning ignition is benzine and temperature gauge going to max and then going back to zero and car returns to ignition on mode(climate works, headlights, clock and usual lights on dashboard). Also I noticed that when I turn climate control to max and headlights on at the same time, then they sometimes shut down for a sec and then re-start. Also dashboard lights fade when more power is used.

I assume that it's the battery, but I'm double checking with you

Also does anyone happen to know which kind battery would suit A4 B5 1.8T FWD( I mean in amps, measurements and so on). Climate is rather cold here, goes down to -25C in extreme cases(happens rarely, usually is limited to -10C)

Thanks

I do not know history of the battery nor when it was bought.

Sounds like the battery. Just take it out, and to your local autoparts shop, they can match up the proper size and cranking amps. You should be able to get one pretty much anywhere. It's probably not holding enough charge to work properly. They can test it first, before you buy one.

Okay thanks!

My audi is right now blocking construction, but pushing the car takes probably 10 men because of dirty, wet ground and tilt. :<

if you are in the cold you want to look for a battery with a higher cold cranking amp number (CCA)
