I would like to get as many opinions as possible to the best way to remove the cat and the downpipe for replacement/repair on a 1.8T quattro. Looking for what you did first, how much you had to take apart, tools you used, together or seperate, anything you can think of that would make the job easier. Also if you can, include any helpful hints as to how you reinstalled (except if you put in a test pipe as I would imagine that would make things a world easier than putting a full size cat back in).

I'd have to chalk this task up to another (amoung many) shitty designs Audi has engineered into this model car. I often wonder if they're still employeed at Audi... and why...
