So my girlfriends 97 b5 2.8 quattro cel went on, scanned it with a vagcom and i got this

16684- Random/Multiple Misfires Detected
P0300 - 93-00 Unknown Error Elaboration

My research (previous thread/post here) has led me to believe its the ignition control module, is there any way to be 100% sure its the ICM? Ross-Tech says there could be a multiple causes to this. I just don't want her wasting money on parts she does not need. And is it safe to drive with this type of CEL on?
