Default Central locking issue?

I have a 1997 b5 a4 18t. I received the car with a valet key only. I got two key fobs off of amazon that I wish to program. When I open vcds and go to the "central locking-35" it shows two keys are saved. When I go to "adaptation" and select channel "00" to reset the key fobs it says ok. when I go to "measuring blocks" on channel "003" it still shows 2 keys saved. When I go to "adaptaion" and try channel "01" or channel "21" it just gives me an error. Is there another way to reset the central locking unit?

You don't need to reset anything. Just leave those two keys in there and begin your keys using the first number above the highest stored number and you should be fine. If that doesn't work, check FOB compatibility.

Under "adaption" it says error on the channels? The keys are from amazon "Combo Compatible with Audi 4D0837231E, 4D0837231P (2 Pack)" when I try without vcds with one key in door and another in ignition nothing happens. I get no flash or beep just the locks locking when I turn the key.

Then those keys are incompatible and won't work. I don't know why they do that. It's so frustrating. I only have one key for my silver car and two for my black car. They're both 2001 8D B5's and they still won't migrate over.
