is the chatter in the steering wheel or in the transmission? it could be something with your steering rack or pump. or possibly a wheel bearing although thats not usually when you turn left and right, only either/or.

You need to elaborate a lot! Are you saying it clicks when your turning?

Ghost is stocking me!

Cnterline explained the noise correctly. It has something to do with the quattro system and even in newer quattros you can feel it slightly. Auditech addressed it once if you do a search maybe you can find it. I think it was said a change of fluid in the rear end and even adding an oil stabilizer may help. My quattro makes the same noise and it is almost like positraction clutches chattering or vibrating.

Good Luck...

The search here leaves a lot to be desired. A closer term would be to say when starting out from a stop while the wheels are turned in either direction you can hear / feel a slight shudder that stopped after the car got moving. It was said after the torsen differential had a lot of miles on it the clearences were greater and that caused the shudder. It doesn't really hurt anything but it feels a little annoying. It was thought a fluid change and some oil stabilizer might help the problem.

I have that on my A8 quattro. I'm changing the gear oil in the rear diff tomorrow. I already did my A6 and it doesn't do that but It didn't before either. I just got the car over the weekend and noticed it today just when you start out a little vibration.
