Is it possible to run straight pipes from the Headers down to the muffler and just bypass the resonators and or cat converters? Im looking for a cheap way to fix my exhaust if i do have to replace the whole thing.

 

do u have to take ur car in for emissions where ur from?

 

if the answer is no you dont need to pass emissions, then just go to a muffler shop and tell them to make you an exhaust from the headers back, you can get a magniflow muffler and have them put that in there, or just reuse the stock one if your looking for cheap. you can have them remove the resonator/s and cats if you want.

 

even with no emissions its illegal for many shops to remove cat's and not put something in place of them.

 

ive never heard or had any of my cars put under emissions tests up in Maine, so i dont think thatd be a problem, but if shops can't do it then that could be a little difficult. I could probably end up doing it myself, i just need the parts.
