I just picked up my new 01 1.8T Quattro. The seller actually met me at a local dealership and split the cost of a full inspection before the purchase. Everything checked out great, so I bought the car. On my way home I stopped to fill up with gas and after I got going again the check engine light came on. I'm a little concerned not knowing the car very well yet. I'm assuming that it's not anything big since the inspection was completed only hours before. Could it have anything to do with the fill-up? Please help me out! Thanks! I'm looking forward to having some fun with my new car!

 

get the car scanned first and post the codes. typical cels that come on after you get gas can be due to not shutting the engine off while filling up, not tightening the cap enough, or bad vent valve.
