Hey guys i bought a 2000 A4 1.8T last summer drove it in San Diego for a few months and then in Jan i drove from san diego to Pax river maryland about the time i got to arizona my check oil level light or as the manual sais the "oil Pressure light" came on and i stoped checked and everything was fine. i then proceeded to maryland with the light on.i have done oil change and oil pressure sensore and nothing has fixed it. the car runs great and there is no problem im running out of ideas and the stealership wants to charge $400 just to check it out. anybody have any ideas.
Thanks,
Thanks,
yes is was just in my local dealership yesterday talking with a tech and he was saying if that happens you probably are having some gumming up issues in your 1.8t and the oil pick up is clogged up. He told me this exact thing could happen since my engine is starting to show signs of getting gumbed up. Audi offers an internal engine cleaning for $450 and then replace the oil pickup.. your engine may be starving for oil so might want to do it right away or look be on the look out for a new engine.
or you could get the same engin flush done a jiffy lube like i did for about $100, I had the same issue in my 2.8, you should have seen how much **** came out after they drained the oil normally, then pumped the engine out. I highly recomend doing this even if you don't have this problem necessarly, it makes your car run much better for not so brand new cars
FYI: engine flush and then i also replaced to oil level sensor. the sensor was covered in gunk and$h!t.so apperently that ties into the "oil pressure" light. which i guess would make sense. lol.
