Default chipping a 2.8

Has anyone heard of putting a porsche 911 chip in their audi 2.8. a guy at my work told me that hes friend in los angeles said that it works and bumps up the hp to 220 or so for about 500 bucks.

That sounds like a bunch of baloney.... seems to me like there's no way all the sensors and timings and everything would be compatible.

I would ask to talk to the friend, then I would probably talk to a Porsche tech.

It would never ever work. Each chip is responsive to a certain type of hardware. The 2.8 V6 and the 911 (3.6 I-6 N/A I'm guessing) are in NO way related. Why do you think the 1.8t chip only works with certain boxes, engine models and model year?

It sounds like he was either 1) Acting like he knew what he was talking about or 2)Was trying to see if you knew what you were talking about.
