Default christmas tree dash

since I bought my car, the ABS, Airbag, and the Brake light have been on constantly when the car is running. no CEL though. and there is no ding when my doors are open, when i start my car, or when i leave my lights on.

have hooked my car up to a code reader, and absolutely no codes found for anything.

is there anything i can do besides disconnecting the lights?

thanks

A code reader, or actual vagcom?

clear them and see if any come back - that'll tell you if they're old or need troubleshooting. The airbag light stays on until it's actively turned off. On my car, my ABS light was on when I had a bad wheelspeed sensor. When I replaced it, the light went out on its own. The brake light may be a dirty ebrake contact causing it to trip the light.

Yeah you're going to have to clear those with VAG Com. The brake & ABS lights could also be a bad ABS module but I can't remember if that also throws a CEL or not?

what's the difference between the Vag com and a code reader? because my neighbors did not read any codes for anything. it was completely clean, and how would i go about cleaning a dirty ebrake contact?

VAG Com actually allows you to read the blocks specific to whatever your problem is. So for example, since your air bag light is on, you can use VAG Com to talk directly to the block that controls the air bags and figure out why its pissed off, then turn the light off.
