Clear coating
Roughly 2 years ago, my impatient *** caused my clear coat to buff right off. Anyway, most people figured that I needed to repaint, or reapply the clear coat. Asked a couple of shops if they could re-clearcoat it again for me or if it could just be buffed out. They said to just repaint it. Approx. $300-$400.
I thought why not just attempt it myself. If i **** up, I'll end up getting it painted anyway. So today was my first attempt.
As for where the seams will be, I am thinking of just wet sanding them with a 2000 grit sand paper and wing it from there. It probably is a better idea to just re clearcoat the whole quarter panel. I just didnt know what to expect first. Just letting the coat dry for tonight and will continue tomorrow.
So far I find the results quite impressive. Will keep you posted.
Any tips/advice is welcome!

When you spray the clear coat, it gives the luster but you can see almost like "dimples". I had the 3M lens cleaner that I used for my headlights. I just used the rubber pad that it came with,a drill and some water to try to smooth it out like glass.

I then used the same stuff from the headlight cleaner. I used the foam pad with the rubbing compound and polished the area.

Took it for a wash. The red circled area is where the seam would have been. I just kept buffing it out. The green circled area are where I still have seams. Very hard to take out since its by the chrome trim. I'll be doing it by hand. I am very please of the results. Much better to what it was.
Note: the problem i ran into was some of the clear coat was peeling off. I figured. Though, I just kept buffing the area to hopefully blend things in. I also just used the dupli colour clear coat. Straight out of the can.
