Climate Control Ruined
I was driving in a rainstorm full of big puddles, making huge splashes along the way. I had the air conditioning on to clear the fog from the windows and after a while I noticed that it was not blowing any air at all - not just neutral air like when the A/C compressor is busted - just no wind at all. The control panel which displays the temperature and the strength of the air stream kept going up and down without me touching it and eventually went to zero notches. Anybody have any clue what's going on?
PS - The water did not get into my air intake - at least not enough to mess up my engine, it seems to run fine. My other question is - besides the a/c compressor, is there a separate component which actually blows the air into the cabin - one which may have gotten knocked about by a wave?

yeah, that would be called the "fan" or more officially your "blower".
Any evidence of water leaking into the cabin floor, maybe on the passenger side? Maybe the wiring inside the dash got wet. It may dry our for you in time.

thats karma for abusing your wife. too bad you didnt hit a tree.
you probably ripped an a/c line which is on the front passengers side on the very bottom of the car and the computer sensed that the air it was blowing was not as cold as requested so after a few attempts it shut off.

The wire connected to the A/C compressor got knocked loose and was dangling under the bumper, but it was not severed. Tomorrow when it finally stops raining I'll take a look underneath and check the A/C line, but most likely its the "blower" because when I drive at highway speeds I can feel a very slight air flow, but at any other time it's completely dead. Can you tell me if the blower is easily accessible if I jack up the passenger side? Is it near the compressor?
The fan is in the dash somewhere.
I bet once you hook the compresor harness back up, and that is working, that the fan should begin to work as well. The other guy was saying that the fan kicks off automatically when the air is not cold enough.
If you crank up the heat to like 89degrees, and turn off the a/c from the climate control panel, does the fan operate?
