Default Climate Control Scare... help!

Hi,
I was outside about an hour ago putting air in my bicycle tires with my 12v DC air compressor. I plugged it into my A4's cigarette lighter and everything seemed fine. After I put the bikes back, I went to turn the car off and I noticed that the air conditioner was on, and I never put it on. I couldn't turn it off, adjust the temperature, adjust the fan speed, change which vents air comes out of, or even use the rear window defogger. I turned the car off and on several times and the problem persisted. Then I checked the fuse, and it was fine ! I replaced the fuse and tried again. This time everything worked fine ?!? I don't know what I did to fix it, but now I'm concerned that this is a symptom to a larger problem. Any ideas as to what happened? Thanks

its probably just some transient electrical interference from the pump that pulling the fuse fixed by resetting computer. if it does it again on its own i would look more into it, but probably not a problem. just dont use the air pump with the car on again.

Default Problem???

I have found that in my A4 if something just slightly pushes in one of the AC control buttons the whole thing becomes inactive until the button is popped back out. that may be the case for you.

The three buttons on the far right will do that. If they stick on it wont let you control anything else. It has something to do with the drink holder above it.

Yes, that's what happened, I forgot to mention the button sticking. Still pretty freaky if you ask me though. I was thinking to myself how big the repair bill would be while I was trying to fix it lol. I don't know how the cup holder would've affected it though, as I've never used that cup holder. Maybe the previous owners did, but if that's the case the problem should've happened back in September when I bought it, not almost a year later.
