I have a '97 too, what "check button" are you talkin about?

The best thing to do when you have a CEL (Check Engine Light) is to take your car to autozone or advance auto parts, and have it scanned for codes. The guy will tell you the codes, write them down, post them, and we'll help you from there.

The button under the Tach when I push it the display runs through a diagnostic test after that was done it would display general info.
I have only had the car for 3 weeks it's a 2.8 and runs good overall.

Interesting. There must have been a couple different dash setups then, cause the button under my tach sets the analong clock. Unless I wasn't pushin it hard enough or somethin?

Edit: I tried it again when I drove into the city just now, and it def. doesn't push in or do anything cool. =/

To set my clock I pull the post out, when I push in that's when it goes through everything. I will try and get a pic for you.

Thanks for your help.
