Question clutch pedal too hight

Hi
I change my clutch on A4 2000 1.8T, it was time to change (I put a Sach clutch kit). The problem now is that the clutch pedal is still too hight. I took clutch pump out from the transmission and didn't separate any hoses (no leaks) and put it again. The only one thing what is on my mind is to try to take the air out??? Any other suggestion?????

Yep - every new owner thinks something is messed up on the clutch at first, but it's not - that's how it was designed and intended to be from Audi. There's no adjustment for the pickup height either, as there was in my Nissans - you learn to live with it and shortly it won't bother you, if you even notice it at all.

my clutch is at the top too and i like it that way
i hate clutches at the very bottom
i think you'll grow to like it just like Upstate said
it'll just be a normal thing after a while

The only thing that makes it potentially inconvenient is if you drive another manual car periodically, made by someone other than Audi. I'm so used to my car's clutch feel that I'll get into another manual car and almost stall the thing when I attempt to pull away - it takes a couple minutes to recalibrate the foot.

Sach makes the OEM Audi clutch so their kits are going to have the engagement point at the same spot. Most of the aftermarket clutch kits are designed to put it between half way and the floor.

IT won't take too long to wear in a bit and be normal-ish again. Do some redline clutch drops to impress your friends if you want to accelerate it's midway pickup.

Thanks for advice. I was wondering way it's like this - when is new. I didn't know that Audis have high engagement point. And the think is that I'm driving another manual cars and compare their engagement points is so high. Thanks again

For sure? The stock clutch that I took out of my B5 was Luk and so was the one from arif's car. I thought that Sachs just made the oem equivelent and that luk was used from the factory. However my luk clutch/pp engages about half way.
