Default Clutch problem (feels like brake pedal)

I have an 01 Audi A4 1.8t fwd and I was driving it the other day then all of a sudden the clutch pedal went to the floor and wouldn't come back up! So i turned the car off put it in 1st gear and then turned the car back on and I took off then rev'd matched 3rd and made it home. The next day I found out that I needed the clutch slave cylinder. So we replaced that and also replaced the clutch master cylinder. The problem that I'm having now is when I bleed the clutch it comes back stiff and when you press it down with your foot it stops before it engages the gear. It feels like a brake pedal when you press it down. Has anyone had that problem or know what I need/doing wrong?

Thanks

Try reinstalling the slave, you might've missed the clutch fork. If it's not pushing on the fork it'll extend to its limit at which point it'll be hard to press, if you force it you'll pop the slave and send the pushrod into the bellhousing.

I am going to try again today, is that the reason why the clutch pedal will not go all the way down after bleeding? (Making it feel like a brake pedal)
