could be a number of things...

the clunking could be from either control arms or your TRE's. both of which go bad on the b5 fairly often.

as far as the burning smell, who knows...i'd say clutch, but then i remembered you're a TIP, so...i'd say either the turbo, or your tire might be rubbing on the fender well and wearing that away (mine did that)

i would take it back to achtuning and let them know of the issues, and see what they suggest

Will do. I don't think my turbo is shot; it responds nicely and quickly, and the boost level is fine.

I'm going to Achtuning to have them inspect it, hopefully it's just a minor alignment issue. The clunking has stopped, but it still happens every now and then. Usually not when I go over a speed bump, just because I granny both sides, but like when I go into a driveway, if my wheels aren't straight, it doesn't matter how slow I go up the bump, it clunks and sounds pretty bad. I hate it

Other than that, my car mobs corners. It's so solid and flat around the corners, it seriously feels like there's no limit. There was a freeway onramp I would take going ~55mph tops with the stock suspension, before I felt it get lazy, but just yesterday I went 65mph no problem. I had to stop myself because I didn't wanna mess anything up on the car, even though it still wanted more.

The thing about it is, it blows for daily, calm driving. The stock suspension is so much nicer to you on the not-so-smooth roads, and you can't really feel the road... but with this, it's totally different. I think practically follows functionality here; feeling the road like this should only happen when you have such an adrenaline rush that you absolutely need to become one with the car. It's the feeling you crave when you're realizing you can set a new world-record lap time at the Nurburgring, and your mind melts into the car and you need to feel the ground as if the wheels are your own damn feet... or when you're trying to lose the six FBI cars behind you, because your buddy sent you some pics of his "ex girlfriend" but they ended up being some fourteen year old girl, and you just got busted for child ****.

Either way, the feeling you need is not one you normally have. Still, I would rather have it than not have it. The ride may be rougher, but as soon as you take a corner, it's all worth it. You're going to flatten a bump in the road before these coilovers will allow your car to even tilt.

My car A4 was clunking. Does it sound the same? If so it could be... wait nevermind... I was going to say your shocks are going out but you just had those replaced (It's late and I am tired... give me a break. LOL) So I would say its probably your control arms or TRE as well. Jack the front of the car up and see if you can move the wheels side to side, in and out, or anything like that. They should not move at all. If they do see if you can see where they are moving from and that will tell you what your clunking noise is. Maybe if you come over here to Spokane next weekend for the Cars For A Cure event I can help you out and see if we can figure it out.
