Default compatibility of parts between 1998 2.8L a4 and 2001 1.8T A4

So I recently had an accident and i need a bunch of replacement parts. It looks like I may be picking up a parts car to get everything i need but im worried about what parts may or may not be compatible between them.

My car is the 2.8L the parts I am looking for are:

Hood
Bumper
Radiator support panel
Headlights
Turn signals
Radiator
condenser
radiator fan and clutch

Which of these parts would be considered completely compatible if the parts car is a 2001 1.8? Thanks for any help, really appreciated.

I'm sure the hood, bumper, headlights/ turn signal (one piece if its coming from an 01) would fit...someone with more experience can chime in on the rest.

Didn't realize the headlights were one peice in the 01. Are you sure the one peice design will fit the same?

Just went through the same thing with my a4
Parts that will fit are
Hood
Bumper
Core support if you also get the 1 piece headlights (you will have to salvage the horn bracket from the 2.8 since the newer models had the horn on both sided instead of just the passenger side
Radiator depends on manual or auto (auto has fluid lines going to the radiator)

Not sure on ac condensor

All of it should fit fine. You'll have to grind the fenders a little for the headlights to go in (not hard and definitely worth the effort).

I guess i forgot to mention. The parts car is an auto and mine is a manual.

Does that mean the radiator is not interchangeable? Or do some hose lines just have to be plugged?

Alright, thanks for the heads up. What exactly needs to be grinded down? is it something that is asthetic? as in does it need to be done precisely and does it need to be painted after?

If you remove the corner lamp on a car with two-piece headlights, you'll see that inside the arch of the fender that mates to the corner lamp, there's a lip of sorts in there. That has to be ground down. CCA4 did his own DIY writeup for this and posted it on AudiFreaks.com awhile back and it's very thorough - the pics in the DIY will show you exactly. If you PM him for the pics/info, or just check the B5 section on that forum, you'll see everything you need to see.
