Default Control Arm Separation and Axle separation

The lower rear control arm separated at the ball joint and allowed my front passenger side axle to pull out of the tranny.

I know I'll need new control arms and at least a boot kit.

But I'm not sure where to start or what other issues may have been created when the axle pulled out. There were two bearings that were still stuck in the grease inside the tranny.

I was parked at a traffic light when it happened. This could have been bad if it happened at speed! (Lesson learned: Get your control arms checked and replaced when needed!!!)

Anybody been down this road....

As you mentioned, you'll need to replace the control arm. I would recommend replacing them all as a set. If one has gotten to that point, the others are probably not far behind. You can find the whole kit at most any of your favorite online parts retailers (FCP, Europa, ECS).

The axle actually looks like the CV joint was the point of failure. You can see that the 6 bolts that hold the axle to the transmission cup are still intact. Pick up a reman axle from any of the parts retailers (many have had good luck with RAxles).
