Control Arms??
Fronts are aluminum, when I went looking for replacement options a bushing replacement wasn't available. Got my parts from germanautoparts.com - they were the uprated Meile/Meyle (sp). And were very reasonable. The kit listed here is *more* reasonable.
If you jack one side of the car up to check it, even if the swaybar bushes are bad, they will be loaded (as though cornering) and other bits will be bound up by the bar. Service lift equalizes the load for both sides.
In my case the intermittent clunk every so often was lower control arm outboard ball joint. Replace with larger/est diameter part for longevity and safety...
