Just bought a new car yesterday...
2001 A4 1.8TQM sports edition, bose, all the bells and whistles. except heated seats :/
Extremely clean car.

But now i'm on the lookout for new performance products, but am on a tight budget i guess.
I've been looking around on here and have seen a lot about the forge diverter valve, different chips, etc.

Is there anything i can do for cheap upgrade in power and performance

and My life would be complete if i could hear the turbo whistlin away
Big change from my old 2.8 already. Huge difference in the way the car responds

the 2.8 was all lower end power, and now with the 1.8t its cool to be able to feel the turbo kicking in

So any advice or tips on how to get this thing to rock for the least amount of cash possible would be amazing

and any other stuff i can look for to make sure this thing runs for a long time!

 

It's all outlined in the FAQ up top. There's info on the 2.8 in there, but the vast majority is geared toward the 1.8T so you'll find it all there.

 

Swiss cheese airbox mod is free, and will definitely make the turbo louder. Are you AWM? I think I have a spare diode laying around if you want it

Just put an order in for a boost gauge, and am going to do one of the airbox mods.
